Primary health care services are among the earliest and most accessible points of contact for women exposed violence. The capacity of health professionals to recognise signs of violence and to respond using appropriate, rights-based language and approaches plays a crucial role in the early identification of violence and in referring women to support and protection mechanisms. To strengthen and make this critical role visible, the Turkish Family Health and Planning Foundation (TAPV), a civil society partner of UN Women, is implementing a project.

As the world marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, preserving the feminist legacy of this historic milestone has become more importan than ever. For 35 years, the Women’s Library and Information Centre Foundation has been archiving documents on women’s history and is now digitizing materials related to the Beijing process. Through a project launched in partnership with UN Women, the documents of three key figures who contributed to the Beijing process; Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Berktay, Prof. Dr. Yakın Ertürk, and Zeynep Oral are being preserved and carried forward as a legacy for future generations.

After the 2023 earthquakes, women and girls across the affected region saw their daily lives profoundly disrupted. Safe spaces became scarce, access to psychosocial support was limited, and essential services were often out of reach. In this difficult period, women’s organizations played a vital role in helping women reconnect with life and with one another.
